What an amazing day that was. It started off so horribly. First, I was late getting to work because there had been a traffic jam on my way to work. Then when I got to the office, the amount of work I had to do was staggering. By the time my lunch break came, I was already exhausted. My short black hair was very untidy due to my hand constantly running through it. I rubbed my tired Asian eyes and just stared at the pile of files I still had to go through. However, my stomach demanded something to eat, so I headed down to the break room. Everyone else had gone out for lunch, so it was just me and my sandwich. Actually I didn't mind since I could use some relaxing peace and quiet. Then the door opened. I guess I wasn't alone after all. It was Kazuo, one of the computer techs who worked for my office. He nodded and went straight for the Coke machine. I just smirked at him. Like most of the techs here, he survived off caffeine and his keyboard."Why aren't you out having lunch at a restaurant like the rest of the staff, Kazuo?" He laughed and sat down next to me and opened his drink, "Yeah right, and leave the poor computers defenseless against the idiots who think they are programmers. No thanks, I'll stay here and keep an eye on the real brains of our company." I had to laugh ... |
